New Topic: Cardboard Boats Join Tall Ships At Erie Festival

The tall ships on Presque Isle Bay this weekend will have some unconventional company: cardboard boats.The Cardboard Boat Regatta will be held Saturday at the Erie Heritage Festival and Tall Ships Erie. the event is being sponsored by the Bayfront Center for Maritime Studies.The Erie Times-News reports that the cardboard boats can take on many shapes, including that of a Viking ship, sharks, fish or other animals. The unusual shaped boats will compete in a 300-yard race Saturday on the East Canal Basin.

This bar is awesome alot of good times here. Every Saturday domestic beer is $1.50 all day. DJ on Friday and Sat. nights. Karaoke on Thursdays.Happy Hour 5-7 and power hour drink specials from 11-12.Strong drinks! Very cold beer! The bartenders are Awesome and the foods pretty good too. I'm in there at least 3 times a week! Love it

I went to Jimmy's Tavern and had a good time. they have a DJ Thurs., Fri. & Sat. I had ordered some wings which were pretty good. the bartender that night was pleasant and fun to talk to. If your looking for a fun relaxing night go check out Jimmys Tavern.

Drinks can be pricey but come on the right night and they have good specials. They used to have a ladies night with a free buffet. They have a number of TV's so its a great place to watch the game. I've always had a good experience with the staff and the food is delicious. They have at least 50 kinds of drafts so you have to try them all. Overall, clean restaurant/bar with sporty feel!

You know the song, "I love this bar". .the one we all love to sing at the top of our lungs while we're 5 beers (or plenty more) in the hole? That has BORO BAR written all over it. This bar still has the towny feel with old school photos posted all over the walls, but the college crowd basically runs the joint. Quarter drafts on Wednesdays used to crowd the bar, but since they up'd the price to 50 cents a few years back it just hasn't been the same. Regardless, The Boro is a place where everybody knows everybody, it's in a prime location, and drinks are decently priced. And if you can stand Beau and his white T's for a few hours, you can manage to have a great night.
