We have tried very hard to keep the crowd as clean as possible. We even took it a step further to expand our dress code to not allow sneakers. In any Bar/ Nightclub environment you are going to get people who get too drunk and act inappropriately we really do everything we can to try and keep the crowd calm but things do happen. I cannot speak for the staff or officer that night because I wasn't there at the time, but I heard someone threatened to kill the coat check girl so she up and quit. We had to throw this poor kid in there that has never done it before. In any business you run into unforeseen issues that you have to deal with on the fly. Again I am very sorry for your experience that night. I can assure you though, Zen is and will remain as long as I have anything to do with it, the hottest nightclub in this city. However, I apologize to everyone, especially all of the other clubs/bars for Johnnys remarks. I am sure he was just very upset and on a rant. We are fortunate enough in Pittsburgh, to have enough options for bars/clubs as we do because we all offer something different, not good or bad but just different. Not everyone is always in the mood for the same thing even if it is great, sometimes, I feel like wearing a hoodie and laying low so we will go to Casey's. Sometimes I feel like getting shitfaced and getting wild, I will go to Barroom. Sometimes I just want great service and have a great nightclub experience, I will go to diesel. My point is...if I wrote of an entire club because of one bad experience I would be hanging out at home by myself. Next time call me 724-766-4556 and I will show you what being taken care of means. When I had them last there was nothing really wrong with them, it's just that they didn't stand out and yes I did taste a lot of franks redhot, or a knockoff of it, in the sauce. The other thing is - I like my wings crispy on the outside which can be an art form more detailed than a good sauce. I can't say for a fact your wings are not crispy, but the night I had them mine were not. Which can in fact kill you. Possibly in as little as 8 seconds however it usually takes a lot longer, which is why drowning victims usually get worked on even if they were under the water for over couple of minutes.An enlarged heart is a totally unrelated medial condition... usually a genetic one at that. Depending on the severity of the condition almost ANY physical activity can be a bad thing. What will happen in court is that the bouncers will be found not-guilty because this guy could have been hospitalized and died even without the choke hold. Not that I disagree with you on the premise of your post. Many of the posts appear to be very accurate and I appreciate everyone's input about the establishments that are here in the Burgh.I was just talking to my Fiance' about Zen this weekend. Thinking perhaps we should drop by and check it out. Their prices are really good for a shot and a beer type of place. The smoking can get a little annoying but they do have the dining room for the non-smokers which is behind glass doors. The bartenders are always on the ball and I have never had to wait for a drink even on a busy saturday night.
